As your adult smile helps you eat, talk, and laugh throughout the day, it’s still prone to the many dental issues that can destroy it. If you don’t take proper care of your smile each day, tooth decay and gum disease can take control over your oral health and give you the dental nightmares you’ve always been afraid of. So, to help you avoid these issues and take care of your oral health, our Phan Orthodontics dental team recommends doing the following things on a regular basis:

· Keep up on oral hygiene: Oral hygiene is extremely important when it comes to smile care. So, make sure you brush your teeth twice a day, floss your smile once a day, and rinse your mouth with mouthwash daily. These things will help you remove the plaque and other harmful substances from your smile each day.

· Have a balanced diet: Eating healthy foods not only helps your physical body, but it also helps your teeth. We recommend keeping your chompers healthy and strong by eating low-fat dairy products, chicken, turkey, fish, whole grains, fruits, and vegetables as much as possible.

· Visit your dentist: It is vital that you attend your six month checkups so you can completely prevent gum disease. These appointments are also valuable because your teeth will be professionally cleaned, you will receive a fluoride treatment, and your entire oral cavity will be examined for issues.
